Which player for Accuphase c2900 and a75 original esoteric k01 or an Accuphase

some news to report: the IfI Zen 3 Streamer turned out to be a turd. Constant churn with needing to reboot it. Spent way too long fiddling with it. Sending it back. It was worth a shot. For now using Roon Nucleus One USB port to a Wyred4Sound USB reclocker and it sounds quite good. Will run this for a while for the streaming side but long term I have no idea yet. Been stocking up on CDs and really loving going thru my existing collection. The 770 continues to amaze but have noticed the sound is going thru changes as it accrues hours.

@audiopacer My Innuos Zen MK3 sounds beautiful and the Innous Sense app is pretty reliable (there were some hiccups now and then, but it's pretty good). It's a very good value for money IMO. Innuos Pulse is another good option, more precise but not quite as organic sounding.

@donquichotte thx for the recommendation. Innuos makes very good equipment. I saw a lightly used Lumin U2 pop on USAM today for a reasonable price and picked that up. I have prior experience with Lumin streamers and never had issues so figured it was a decent play. I wasn’t planning on getting a more $$$ streamer so fast but the infernal ifi zen stream junk really had me worried that would be in the same boat with fidgety stuff in this price point. In the past I played around with raspberry pi modules, Volumio, sonore Rendu (more stable than pi) and just don’t want the DIY hassle and headaches that always seem to crop up. A few years ago I did have Innuos Zenith and used it as Roon core and standalone. It was a great machine too, I ultimately went with Lumin because it was good price and I’m very familiar with the UI, it’s compatible with JPLay, has an SFP port, just always works (super stable) , and has a super low noise USB port. Should be fine (hopefully!!)

@bclower so two quick things:

1.I have to eat my words on streamer. The Lumin U2 is awesome with the DP-770. Night and day difference between the ifi Zen Stream 3. Both in SQ and function.

2. DP-770 break in was rough for me. There were a few days in a row that the system did not sound good and I began to worry. This ultimately resolved itself. To my utter surprise and relief the DP-770 in my specific system to my ears, has achieved the next level in SQ over and above the magnificent playback designs mpd-8 dream dac. I owned that dac for a year. I think it really comes down to a system synergy thing. The DP-770 is the perfect digital companion in an all Accuphase system. When I had a Moon 761 amp and 791 digital / preamp the MPD-8 was superior to the 791.

Hello audio pacer so nice to hear you’re starting to enjoy your unit, I have been listening to mine now for maybe five hours and you’re right it’s going through changes but all for the better, did a lot of interconnect experimentation, and believe it or not a 2002 pair of audio magic sorcerers is really making this bad boy sing just listen to Keb Mo, close your eyes and swears in the room, but I’m sure it will get better and better but I am extremely happy with this piece. Never owned anything like this and yes, I have full Accu face system, keep me posted and we will compare notes all the best to you my friend Barry
