Is it my streamer or does Audirvana sounds better?

Dear members,

I really need some help here with my digital front end. I tried 3 different streamers in the past 2 years( Bluesound node icon, hifi rose and Eversolo T8) and everytime I keep going back to Audirvana via my MacBook. Why is that if everyone keep saying ditch your computer? I am only using my MacBook for streaming audio

only( not for personal use) connected to my Garlubidor divinity r2r dac. The rest of my system is McIntosh C2600 preamp and McIntosh Mc452 amp. No matter what I do Audirvana sounds better to my ears. Is it my rusty ears? Is it my streamers? Any comment and idea will be highly appreciated.

For Windows playback, you should download the free version of Fidelizer and run it in purist mode and then launch Audirvana.

Give it a shot and see if it improves on the playback artifacts that you are experiencing.

OP, are you using Audio Nirvana’s EQ ? That might be why you get the sound you like.

I had A/N setup into the Wiim Ultra, running Win 11 via wifi, before I went down that rabbit hole. The money I spent on my Digital was WELL worth it though. Definitely a major improvement. I still have the Wiim & it's going to my basement setup one day.

Enjoy the music!

Streamers are just networking computers that are optimized for audio and also made to look like audio components.

Audirvana is a program that optimizes computers for audio by primarily by shutting down computer functions not essential for audio.

I used Audirvana for a few years and sonically it was excellent.  There is no reason to switch to a streamer if this works for you
