New Schiit Eitr 2 for $99!

I just installed the Eitr 2 in my main system on Tuesday. It features great sonic clarity/tone and versatility! The Eitr 2 can be powered by 6VAC or the USB cable. A USB C input and three simultaneous  outputs; AES/EBU, SPDIF on RCA and Toslink. Highly recommended!

I know plenty of people using a quality USB to SPDIF converter paired with a dedicated streamer. They all report benefits from the outboard processing of that function. So it's not just for computers.

Eitr 2 looks like a great little device, I might give it a try for my desktop setup.

I normally use a Sonore OpticalRendu for streaming. However, since I only have 1 of those left, I have been using my laptop to stream directly to my Schiit AsgardX headphone amp with Mesh DAC card. It is really good. My prejudice about using a computer direct to a DAC needs to be toned down to the Schiit USB. Maybe they are doing something better.

I am assuming this new Eitr 2 would be good based on my experience with the AsgardX.

I recently owned and sold the new Schiit Singular DAC (Byggy), and it was also rather good as a 2-channel preamp, though I used the Sonore OpticalRendu to stream to it.

I've been using the original EITR for years with a Modi 2 Uber and Audio By Van Alstine Insight multibit dac, and have been very pleased with the results.

The EITR 2 at $99 is a much better value than the EITR 1 was at an inflation adjusted price of $214.  And, for another $50 you can add Forkbeard which will allow the EITR 2 to turn any older dac into a remote controlled preamplifier with a three band graphic equalizer.  All for $149!  IMHO this is one of the best offerings from Schiit in the entry level category in quite a while.
