Jam Session came out in 1954, obviously it was ripped to digital, but I really don’t know. Maybe someone else here can chime in.
Jazz for aficionados
I looked for it new on Discogs but I didn’t see any new vinyl pressings nor any remastering. Although this weekend I gotta take a deeper listen as I did see Dinah Washington appears on it and I often wondered why here on jfa the iconic jazz vocalist are seldom presented here. And I actually enjoy listening to the greats of jazz vocalist, guys and dolls alike. Larry Young - Unity - Rudy Van Gelder 24Bit Mastering/Digital Remaster/1998

Found a Charles Mingus Box Set called Charles Mingus Changes. It’s 7 albums on 7 disks. “The Complete 1970’s Atlantic Studio Recordings”. 2) The Changes Vol.1 3) The Changes Vol.2 4) Three Or Four Shades Of Blues. 5) Cumbria & Jazz Fusion. 6) Me Myself An Eye. 7) Something Like A Bird. So my Jazz Card is filled for today. |
Today’s rabbit hole is Clifford Brown. He’s definitely one of my favorite Trumpet players and fortunately he led a couple of bands as well as being part of a bunch of others. Sadly, he died at just 25 years of age. I can only imagine the hours of listening pleasure he would have provided to the world. |
