Magnepan LRS+ and WiiM Amp

I currently run my Qualio IQ (89 dB, 4 Ohm) speakers with a WiiM Amp both for music and it is also connected to the TV via HDMI. The WiiM amp runs them very well. Recently listened to the Magnepan LRS+ at a friend's house and was really surprised witht the clarity of sound. Since then have been thinking of getting a pair. The only place I think where I can keep the Magnepans is in the TV room to provide space both sides and I am limited to using the WiiM Amp due to the HDMI feature. Looking for advice/experience on pairing the LRS+ with the WiiM Amp.

thanks

I used AI (Copilot) to search for these.  Hifishark.com is a good site to search for everything.  Here's a link to suitable Bryston's for sale:

No, the TX-8470 Hi-Fi should be in the same room as the LRS+.

Tell me, what are you trying to accomplish?  I sense that you want a component that combines functions (e.g., an integrated amp) which is why I suggested Anthem.  The challenge is that you need something that can handle the LRS+'s demanding nature.

Here's a table with integrated amps with approximate pricing in Dubai's currency.  You'll notice that the pricing is much higher that buying an old Krell or Bryston for a fraction of the prices shown for these integrated amps.  (Personally, I'd find a pair of Bryston 7B monoblocks just because they're  easily found, relatively inexpensive, a perfect fit for the LRS+and look great):

@patrickalston thank you again for the effort you are putting in.

1. Didn’t understand the comment about “being in the same room”. I read on the Onkyo and the website says high current- without being specific. That and it has everything one could possibly want in an amplifier including two speaker connections for $800 ( the dealer offered a discount since I wrote)- is what attracted me to it.

2. What am I seeking: basis the feedback I received from all it seems I am missing out on the full potential of the LRS+ with the WiiM amp. And I am trying to explore inexpensive options to achieve that. Since the LRS+ is connected to the TV I wanted an amp like the WIIM - having HDMI. Of course I could buy a cheaper used amp as you suggest and buy a streamer with HDMI too.

3. Since this morning I have also managed to snag a subwoofer from a friend to test out- a small one- Focal Cub Evo. Literally just installed it 30 minutes ago. Not sure I like extra bass or prefer the sharp sound of the standalone LRS+.

4. Coming back to your recommendation on Krell, Briton etc- I guess I will have to look for them whenever I travel to the US next. If all goes well will be in St. Louis early May. Will start searching now on USAM etc

5. Lastly the WiiM and LRS combo on its own sounds pretty good. I am right now in the typical audiophile dilemma territory that Captain Kirk always faced on Starship Enterprise- is there anything better out there.
