Shunyata X series power cords

Has anyone tested the new X series of Shunyata power cords. I currently am using an Alpha v2 on my streamer/dac, but my dealer has told me the new Alpha and Sigma x series are vastly improved.

@swede58, I’m using Chord Sarum T speaker cables with the Diablo 300. I am not swapping speaker cables and interconnects anymore as I’ve spent too much money on the current cables which I own.

A dealer managed to source a mint pair of Shunyata Alpha-X NR and it’s just about 20% cheaper than MSRP, not that much reduction. I’ll need to decide soon.

Just an update, the Shunyata Alpha-X NR has been confirmed. I should receive it by end of the month as the owner is away.

Update. I finally had the opportunity to try the Shunyata Alpha-X NR in my system. Although the listening is only for two days, the experience has proven to be a revelation.

The Alpha-X NR is currently one of the costliest mains power cable which I own and I can only imagine how much better the Sigma-X and Omega-X will be although there is no plan to go there mainly due to the cost. I would recommend these cables to anyone who has a good system. The difference is immediate and easy to hear, and it will likely bring a profound impact to any system.

The Shunyata is currently on my Luxman integrated amp. Familiar music which doesn’t sound good now sounds great. The most noticeable difference is the clarity in music. Overall improved clarity especially with tracks which sounded warm and congested in the midrange. The muddiness is all gone. Previously when turning up the volume the muddiness just got worse and there’s a limit on how loud one can go. This does not apply with the Shunyata installed. I’ve tried turning the volume up much louder than before to ridiculous levels and the sound remains crystal clear without any smearing. No exaggeration. All the notes are intact retaining their shape and the clarity and dynamics are improved as well. It’s like looking through a clearer window that has been thoroughly cleaned.

The Luxman L-590AXII isn’t as soft or wooly sounding as I thought of earlier. Who would expect that a mains power cable is restricting the full potential of the amp. I will try the cable on the Gryphon Diablo 300 once it’s back from repair.

Thanks for all the advice and experiences. The Alpha-X NR is a good cable which has exceeded my expectations. I wasn’t expecting any miracles but was delighted with the impact it has brought to the system.
