How Much Have You Spent On Cables Throughout The Years. I'm Shocked When I Checked.

I just checked the total cost of cables which I still own, all types of cables including spares. It's all recorded in an Excel sheet, actual price paid and not MSRP.

I'm shocked. It's a whopping sum of $22.4k. crying

I'm sure there would be people who have spent more. I have seriously overspent on cables though I still need to get another mains power cable before I call it a day, a rather costly one.

It’s not so bad if you can buy used and resell later for a decent % of your original cost.

Buying not too used higher quality of gear and not getting burned, is an art form unto itself. That’s the majority of the pieces in my rig. Still, the money I’ve spent...The fun part is the quality you get and to keep telling yourself it’s okay to spend more for a higher quality item of kit cause it’s used.

Brillant response! When you have nothing to defend your position always resort to name calling. That always works.

Forget the measurements, there's no objective evidence that cables affect the sound of a stereo, but boy don't companies like to tell you they do, which leads to suckers buying ridiculously priced items and then they supposedly hear a difference. It's pretty sad how many people don't understand expectation or confirmation bias, whether they live in Texas or anywhere else.

Which ones? Cables do have LCR properties that are not only quite measurable, but quite capable in some instances of affecting sound quality (speaker, analog interconnects) - though not necessarily for the better. However, only an imbecile would argue that an Ethernet cable has any sonic properties whatsoever.

They sure do, don’t they?!? Well it’s those "suckers"’ own social security checks, and if you agree that they earned it then let them spend it as they wish.

The importance of behavioral psychology in audiophilia is criminally underrated, in my opinion.
