Which ones? Cables do have LCR properties that are not only quite measurable, but quite capable in some instances of affecting sound quality (speaker, analog interconnects) - though not necessarily for the better. However, only an imbecile would argue that an Ethernet cable has any sonic properties whatsoever.
but boy don’t companies like to tell you they do, which leads to suckers buying ridiculously priced items and then they supposedly hear a difference.
They sure do, don’t they?!? Well it’s those "suckers"’ own social security checks, and if you agree that they earned it then let them spend it as they wish.
It’s pretty sad how many people don’t understand expectation or confirmation bias, whether they live in Texas or anywhere else.
The importance of behavioral psychology in audiophilia is criminally underrated, in my opinion.
