How Much Have You Spent On Cables Throughout The Years. I'm Shocked When I Checked.
I just checked the total cost of cables which I still own, all types of cables including spares. It's all recorded in an Excel sheet, actual price paid and not MSRP.
I'm shocked. It's a whopping sum of $22.4k. 
I'm sure there would be people who have spent more. I have seriously overspent on cables though I still need to get another mains power cable before I call it a day, a rather costly one.
@dayglow There is NO proof more expensive cables will "Maximize the potential of your system". However there IS proof that they don't do anything! Suggesting to pay excessive amounts of money for expensive cables and making unsubstantiated claims suggesting to others it will improve their system is non-constructive. |

@foggyus91 Amir's recent test of a $7 cable vs. a $4000 cable is as real as it gets. The proof is there to see. Do you believe in science and the ability to accurately measure electricity? How about YOU present your proof that they DO make a difference? Otherwise you might be the one who's full of S. Here's my proof. |

I took the OP to be reflecting on the value he got for his money. Audiogon is all about value, right? This post seems totally fine and not whining, to me. I spent enough to start blind testing. That helped me sell some cables I was *sure* were making a difference. After I got over the humiliation of being myopic, getting some money back was a nice recompense. |
