Which player for Accuphase c2900 and a75 original esoteric k01 or an Accuphase

I have the house sound of Accuphase  C 2900 paired with a 75 amplifier, it is sweet, but somewhat rolled off at the extremes,, I would be very very appreciative if you guys that know more than me would comment on the benefits of adding the esoteric   K0 1. original ,,or possibly the DP 720 or 750  I’m looking for a little bit more bass definition and do not want to get caught up too deep in the romance thanks in advance again for any help Barry

@mark200mph congrats on the M-1000 amps. That is great they are still purring :) but I’m not surprised they still play to a high level. Accuphase engineering approach sets a very high bar and they build them to last 30-40 years give or take. There are interesting Accuphase factory visit vids on YouTube , and in some of these, they include the original technicians and engineers who worked even more vintage gear- and still support repairs. They had a customer with a 50 year old component and they repaired it and sent it back. I love this, and love their overall company ethos. I wish I had gotten into Accuphase years ago but happy to finally have gotten over the what ifs that kept me away. Life is short :)

Have you played around with the Accuphase room correction component?
cheers

I do want to get thier dsp unit that is an electronic crossover.its on the list as I have many electronic crossovers but that one has excellent reviews and many functions. Enjoy the music and experiments..

Thank you for the kind words audio pacer, she’s quite a lady, we are renovating a 100 year-old house in the historic district of Newnan, Georgia, and she actually let me put my second system up in the living room, long story short Arturo at Axiss was a friend of mine for about 30 years before I lost touch with him after he sold the company, he always gave me a good deal because I helped him in a lot of ways on the East Coast back when he was starting off, practice two or three days a week now semi retired and refused to pay the US prices, therefore, yes, I ordered one on eBay brand new in the box 120 voltage, half the price I have talked to at least five very knowledgeable Asian Accuphase  people, and laid laugh at the profits that guy has made over the years, we all know this stuff doesn’t break. I have owned at least 10 pieces and never had the service of one of them plus this particular company guarantee service if I send it back if in fact, it ever needs it, congratulations to you on your soon to be new baby, I hope it gives you a lot of pleasure I will stay in touch and let you know how my deal proceeds all the best my friend Barry

by the way audiopacer a very nice member ,,,, that goes by the name, Mr. Triode who lives in Boca Raton Florida is a very big Accu phase person he has a lot of the top end gear. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, sir

@bclower: It's a little off topic, but would you mind sharing what made you prefer the DP-550 to the DP560? I have a sneaky suspicion that the newer Accuphase players and dacs (and maybe amplifiers as well) are not necessary better in all respects compared to their older machines.

As for your initial complain I'd like to add another fresh argument against blaming your wonderful amplification equipment for sins of frequency rolloff. I have just bought a pair of Sonus Faber Amati Futura. With my comparatively more modest electronics (Innuos Zen MK3, Accuphase DP550 and the E470 integrated) the sound has excellent extension both ways, in spite of the allegedly more restrained top octave of the Futura. Matching cables and the room do play a huge role! Even things you could dismiss as mere fine adjustments like the surface your gear sits on can be very important: I placed the speakers on the carpet first and the bass was a disaster; now they are on the wooden floor (in the same position) and there is a world of difference.
