Auralic Altair G2.1 SSD Upgrade

I have this wonderful streamer but he didn’t come with hard drive .

I have new BX 500 Crucial SSD for upgrading…… 

unfortunately, I found out that my unit doesn’t have needed bracket or cables. I need to get the mounting kit. I would be very very happy if someone would guide me how to do it eventually maybe somebody has this available. Thank you so much .

3. Installation overview (very straightforward)

Once you have the kit, the process is surprisingly simple… this is not a “Mac Mini nightmare” situation.

Steps:

  1. Unplug unit

  2. Flip over and remove bottom plate (Torx screws)

  3. Attach SSD to bracket

  4. Connect internal cable (only fits one way)

  5. Mount bracket into chassis

  6. Reassemble

That’s it mechanically.

Then:

  • Power on

  • Use Lightning DS app → Storage → Format drive

Many users describe it as essentially “plug and play” once the kit is present.

Works the same to plug in an external USB Hard drive...this is how I do it at my vacation home with an Auralic Altair G2.1.
