A winner: Roon on Asus NUC 15 Pro/Core 7 Slim/16Gb RAM/512Gb SSD

I finally had time to replace the old PC I run Roon on with latest Asus Nook 15 Pro mini-pc, cost <1K. This is most recent Windows 11 model configured with a lot more horsepower than my old similar form factor Windows 10 model, so was ready for an upgrade, especially in that Roon had been fussing about running on it quite a bit of late.

So far so good.   Very compact, excellent performance, very quiet running.  Roon is zipping along quite optimally now.

I’ll post if anything changes but looks like a winner for running Roon.  All problems gone, at least so far.

Moving my programs from old Windows 10 to new Windows 11 was a breeze, including Roon.    All my Roon files are on a remote USB drive which I just connected to new PC, then shut down old PC,  installed Roon on new, logged in, and restored my library from backup.

Nice!

@mapman That’s great to hear!  I was trying to get an ASUS 14 similarly spec’d as your 15 but could not get an IP from my network. Roon team stated they do not support 14 and higher.  So I backed down to an Intel 12 which is actually supported by ASUS as well. Arrives tomorrow. Did you have any issues getting your 15 up and running?

So…you’re saying I don’t have to buy a Titan for multi-room streaming?

lol, congrats.

@mapman, did you do the BIOS upgrade first with the cap file, or did you bypass that since you have 15? I've been told to do both by Roon support and was curious if I could skip that step. Was there an easier guide to follow, or did you follow Roon's step-by-step instructions? Thank you! Woots
