amp I bought 3 days ago not powering on - electrical engineer advice wanted

I bought a used Musical Fidelity A380 in good condition. Played it every day, worked fine.

Today it did not turn on. There were no sign of failure yesterday. Could it be a fuse or power supply?

Tried to read through all the worthless comments to see where you are at with your problem. Did you find a local tech? It sounds like a simple problem to diagnose, at least to the major system causing your issue. Of course the tech needs to actually know how to get the problem to present itself, since it seems to be intermittent. If you have the schematic, take it in with the amp. Sometimes finding the correct schematic is the hardest part. The tech will take a few voltage measurements to determine if you have an AC power issue first and then follow up with the DC voltage verifications. If the power supplies are not causing the problem then the tech will trace an audio signal through each stage of the amplifier looking for the stage that fails to pass the signal on to the next. Once the bad stage is identified the tech will need to focus on individual components and connections. Hopefully the problem will be within the first ac power checks and a simple one to fix.

Why, you charmer, you! I guess the tech could do all that, or you know, change out the $15 power switch.
