Just upgraded my speakers - do I still need the subs

I suggest you keep the subs. Multiple subs not only supplement the low end, they reduce room modes and greatly smooth your response.

Below is a recording from my room using four subs, but the benefit is largely gained with just two.

Not every speaker needs a sub/subs....but every audio room does!
