Japanese cable brands

Inspired by a recent thread somewhere around here about brands from South Korea. I have always been fascinated by Japanese hifi gear. From vintage Sansui and Pioneer to more modern things like Esoteric DACs, TAD Labs speakers, everything from Luxman and Accuphase.

That got me thinking about cables. I've used some of the Esoteric Mexcel cables and loved them. I've always wanted to try Acrolink, and recently learned that they actually make all the Esoteric branded cables. Acoustic Revive has some very intriguing designs. I've heard great things about the cables offered by TAD Labs and just learned they are made by another Japanese brand called Tiglon. Turns out Tiglon is just now available in the US so I've got an inquiry in to try them out.

Anybody have experience with these or other high end cables from Japan? Availability seems to be the challenge for trying these out unless you live there. They seem to be extremely nice cables if you can get your hands on them.

I have used an Esoteric IC for decades.  Accurate, Doesn't seem to add or subtract anything.  Not nessesarily wide open either.

I’ve used solid core copper Acoustic Revive IC cables for a decade in a high end valve, analog system. Great construction. Warm sound. Best copper I’ve heard. Solid core was much more costly than the stranded wire. As I got older I needed greater detail, so switched to pure cyrotreated silver.

Hello all,

I’ve been using Mogami 3104 raw speaker cable for years to fabricate my speaker pipes.  Mogami cable, both raw and pre-made have been the choice of many audiophiles and professionals for decades.  The Mogami products are manufactured at the Mogami facility in Nagano, Japan.  Their products can be sourced at many U.S dealers on-line and local audio outlets.  Highly recommend!

Enjoy the music.
