JPlay experts? — Innuos Stream1 is invisible!

I just started exploring JPlay, and it seems quite good sound-wise and in terms of user interface, but although it easily found all of my other streaming devices (Aurender, Gato, BlueSound) on my LAN, it will not recognize my Innuos Stream1 as an audio output. (It does recognize it as a potential library, but as i have no SSD installed on the Stream1, that is not terribly useful or relevant.)

I have enabled UPnP on the Stream1 via the Sense app and have tried putting the Stream1 in Innuos Standalone, Innuos Endpoint and HQ Player modes, but in none of those will JPlay list the Stream1 as an audio output choice.

Anybody have any idea of what I’m doing wrong?

@marcin_gps I did send a similar question to the JPlay support email the other day.)

No great reason, @soix. Just convenience of being able to switch zones from a single user interface. Roon offers the ultimate convenience of being able to have multiple players/zones playing exactly the same tracks at the same time. UPnP can’t do that (as @marcin_gps has explained elsewhere), but at least if i am leaving one room and going to another, i can switch players very easily from within JPLAY, but for the room that has the Stream1 i need to open another app — either Sense or Roon — to get the Stream1 to play.

And oddly, Sense often can’t find my Stream! from my iPad even though on the iPhone there is no problem. 🤷🏻

@kirkwallace , interesting info , thanks for posting the answer. FWIT I’d still contact Innuos with your issue. Last year I suddenly had an interface issue with my Innuos Pulse to my Schiit Yiggy. The first thing I did was email Innuos support with a detailed description of my issue. The next day they responded that my issue was a bad USB card on my Yiggy. One, they were absolutely correct and two , they took the time to research my Yiggy. And when I contacted them I stated that I bought the Pulse used, now that’s true support.

Good idea, @buellrider97 . I have just, as @marcin_gps suggested, ask that they consider modifying their software to support the Stream1 (and their other streamers) acting as UPnP renderers.  No harm in that, I suppose.  (And I bought my Stream1 brand new from an authorized dealer.)

Well, one has to give it to Innuos support on speed. In under 3 minutes, I got this response:

“I hope you're well and busy enjoying your system.

While we do not rule anything out entirely, I can say that there are currently no plans to expand our UPnP related features. Our main focus is on continuing to improve and develop our Sense platform.

Kind Regards,“
