Can't reply to a message with out a payment method and phone number????

Why does Audiogon need a payment method and phone number registered to reply to a message? This is not a sales inquiry but a message form another member about a form question and advice on amp speaker matching. I'm not too keen on giving this to Audiogon for this reason. Are they charging me to reply to a member to member question?

It makes sense from the standpoint that Audiogon is a business.

The messaging service was probably put in place to support commerce.

I'm guessing the requirements are in place to weed out scammers.

The forums are a freebee that we all enjoy.

so if someone has a question for me from the forum and wants to message me, they have to have a paypal account. Got it. Makes perfect sense. Actually I would ask for all the childrens' allergies and SNN numbers as well. Without those, how can you message someone, really?

Wow talk about over reacting. And yes its agons ball and if you don’t like it go play elsewhere.
