The Nirvana aspect of listening

Nirvana as a pain free blissful state is experienced with a quiet mind and that is something that cannot be purchased. Although, even as I say that, I am also aware that in the world of high end audio a truly alluring sound system draws the listener into the present moment where Nirvana can be found and experienced. I am also of the belief, from my own experience that the higher the quality of the sound being revealed and reproduced by the system the more it holds the attention of the listener and the less distracted the listener is by the persistent obstacle’s presented by the ever wandering thinking mind. I would have to believe this experience of quieting the mind and hearing nothing but the music in the present moment is the Nirvana of the listening experience and is ultimately what is being sought by the listener whether they look at this way, or not. 

After being involved in an industrial accident at the age of twenty four where I suffered ulnar and median nerve damage to my right arm an injury that has caused me to live a life of chronic pain and chronic pain management is what led me to become a daily meditator. I began to listen to music to quiet my mind, release stress and reduce pain, I found myself seeking out higher and higher levels of quality of music reproduction in the form of audio equipment to aid and improve the quality of my daily practice. I looked at my Sound system as both my therapist and the music as my therapy so the money I spend improving it becomes an investment in my own wellbeing. I share all of this to say that the stress free state of mind or Nirvana I was originally speaking of brings me to my most recent addition to my audio system, the PranaWire Nirvana XLS level 2 interconnect cables. 

The Nirvana XLS level 2 interconnect cables are super fast and have brought forth tone that is rich, and revealing throughout the musical spectrum, they present an extremely well balanced textured tapestry, causing the listener to be drawn into the mix, which allows them to gain easier access to that blissful quiet mindful state of Nirvana. The Nirvana XLS cables, keep everything in proper phase and that makes everything clearer, more coherent and more accurate than I’ve ever heard before and they are such a pleasure to listen to music through as they allow a level of allure that really does offer one access to nirvana. They can be so very seductive that you hang on the edge of every voice, from the angelic whisper of a violin to every beautiful intonation the most loveliest of feminine voices has to offer and yes, they reveal the rich deep tones of a bass or cello and male vocals are also a great pleasure to listen to. 

If you are of the belief that silver cables do not produce good bass or over emphasize the highs in this case you would most definitely be mistaken. However, if you are someone who wants to hear all of your music treated equally as a whole and revealed in luxurious detail with gorgeous tone no matter what type of music you’re listening to, then the Nirvana XLS Interconnect cables are, in my opinion, everything you are looking for. 

Personally , I am extremely grateful that I found my way to PranaWIre. I love the quality of the quietude that I am now experiencing with the various types of PranaWire products that I have added to my system. For all the reasons I have mentioned above clean power is essential and the PranaWire Linebackers do an exceptional job of keeping the noise floor very very low, clean, and quiet, establishing a great foundation for the musicality of the system to rise from. Since, I first added them to my system, every tone of every instrument has become more life like than ever before. 

Each of the 3 levels of the Nirvana XLS cables offers the same advantages as the other and going up a level gives you more of those same advantages, each level up offers and even grander scale. I personally believe that buying several level 1 or 2 items is better than buying a single level 3 item if however money is not an issue for you then yes level 3 is definitely the way to go. 

The only downside, other than budgetary considerations, that I can think of when ordering PranaWire products is the wait time, since every cable and every product is custom-made by hand to exacting specifications, the wait time to receive a product is a matter of months, not weeks, so you have to be willing to be patient with the time consuming process in order to receive your rewards.

I’m not going to try and convince anyone here to believe what I believe which is that higher quality cables really do make a difference nor do I believe that it’s for me to tell anyone what to spend there money on, these are personal decisions, but I can share with you that I personally, have had to save for several years in order to purchase something I really wanted in the way of audio equipment and so my choices are not made lightly. I can also say without any doubt or hesitation that the PranaWire line of products is one of the best choices that I have ever made for myself. I am very grateful that I found them because every time I have added a PranaWire product to my system it has not only improved my system but I can honestly say that they have improved the overall quality of my life. 

Over the past few years I have purchased 2 PranaWire Linebackers, in-line power conditioners, thank you Audiogon, a PranaWire Interceptor, which lowers the ground floor by improving the quality of the ground plane and my latest addition there level 2 Nirvana XLS rca interconnects, thank you Joe Cohen, www.lotusgroupusa.com . 

Other great cables that I have owned over the years as my personal taste, budget and overall system evolved include but are not limited to, Anti cables, Audioquest, Acoustic Zen, Harmonic Technology, Stealth, Audience, Kubala Sosna, Siltech and the Acolink interconnect cables which I just replaced with the PranaWire, Nirvana XLS. 

Other cables currently in use, Kubala Sosna Elation digital, Siltech silver and gold speaker, Acrolink power and now, of course, the PranaWire, Nirvana XLS rca interconnects. I believe that when it comes to getting the most out of the musical experience through audio equipment that every single thing in the chain matters to some degree, and somethings to a far greater degree than others.

At the age of 66 years it has taken me a life time to slowly acquire the pieces of the system that I now have and it is by far the best I’ve ever had and I also know that it’s very, very far from the best out there and still you can trust me when I say, I am very grateful to have it. 

This review submission is the first time I’ve ever shared this passion of mine with a group of people where there’s at least a chance that someone might actually understand where I’m coming from, but then again, maybe not, maybe this listener situation of mine is a bit more complicated and unique than most. Good thing I’m in therapy.
