Can Qoboz Connect sound better than Qobuz viz Aurender Conductor?

Experience that does not make sense. In my system, streaming directly via Qoboz Connect produces better sound than streaming via Qoboz through Aurender Conductor app. Sound is more intense and liquid and soundstage is larger. (I dislike this lingo but in brief sound is more analog.) Does Quboz Connect somehow organize stream in a better way than other pathway? You would think Aurender would optimize its app for its streamers. Mine is an Aurender N150 that feeds a Berkeley Audio Design (BAD) Alpha USB 2, which in turn feeds a BAD Alpha Reference DAC 2. USB and AES/EBU cables are Audioquest Diamond. See my profile for description of entire system.

@rvpiano I did a Google search to figure it out. I had the same question.

I had to make sure that my Innuos streamer had a fairly recent update.  I then installed the Qobuz app to my tablet from the Play Store.  Run the app and sign into your Qobuz account.  When you play a song, a tiny icon shows the playback device.  Initially, it was playing music through my tablet.  I clicked on the icon, and my Innuos streamer was listed.  I selected it and playback changed to it.

I got home late, so I didn’t have a lot of time to listen, but when playing songs that I’m very familiar with, I did notice an improvement.  Songs seem more detailed and real, but not over the top.

@bosssound replied while I was typing.  Lol.

I have 2 systems in my house and agree with @audphile1. My main system using the Innuos Zenith and Sense application I prefer QB played via the Sense application.

So i did a comparison on our second system using the Lumin D3 and again QB sounds better through the Lumin app.

It just is a different sound. Will also depend on the settings on your DAC.

Fun fact about the Qobuz app..  If you install it on your phone, your phone will show up as a playback option on other devices.

A few months ago, I was in a group meeting with upper management and I was debating with them about a heated topic.  In the middle of my presentation, my phone started cranking a song by Papa Roach.  The entire room died laughing. I think my son had accidentally played it over my phone.

I hope that you did not share that fun fact with your son. Now he can prank you at any moment.
