@dstryker77 Paul at PS Audio just released this Q&A video on why dynamics are so hard to reproduced. On the speaker side, a lower mass driver has an easier time on dynamics, with Tekton array-type speaker, which uses lower mass to manage this easier, as Eric has also pointed out on the Tekton YouTube page. Thus, Tekton is known to have good Dynamics.

Tekton Double Impact SE vs Kef R7 Meta
Hello everyone, I’m looking for some help with my eventual upgrade path. I currently have a pair of Kef Q350 being powered by a Willsenton R8. I enjoy the clarity, detail, and instrument separation of the Kef’s, but they can be a bit polite. Soundstage is great as well, tonal balance is good as well. I’ve been looking at the R7 metas figuring they have similar sound characteristics as the Q350s just with more refinement and overall better sound, but I realize the Willsenton might be a bit underpowered (especially in triode mode) to really make them sing. Tekton is a name that keeps coming up in my research. I realize they can be a bit of a controversial choice do to some of the issues they’ve had with reviewers. All I really am concerned with is, how do they actually sound. I really want to keep that clarity that the KEFs have. We listen primarily to rock, metal, and electronic music. My room is rather large. It’s a 19’x 39’ great room (living room, dining room, and kitchen.
I’d like to hear from people that have had experience with either of these speakers with similar amplification and what their thoughts are. I’m also open to other speaker suggestions. Thank you!

I do not think scanspeak and satori beryllium at an upgrade are junk speakers.many speakers are box type. You can go from mild to wild with tektons including an 11k beryllium upgrade on ulfbrics ?spelling. Eric has sold to many high end musicians. Very few manufactures will let you call them and say i want mundorf caps and do such.he will build what you want. He has very expensive measuring devices for sound integration.. I have 3 sets of ulfbrics in various stages including home theater.my all be set at 20k are ne t to my kharma grand,> 200k,focal utopia grand> 200k, magico q7> 200k and sure have nice cabinets but you pay for that.now the ulfbrics are 95 % in sound quality of those reference speakers.my ulfbrics have been driven by mcintosh 2kw,krell 700 , michi m8, hegel h 30 mono, boulder, Dan dagostino , bhk 600 and others and they take all the wattage no sound compression great dynamics no cone breakup be cause paul explained physics momentum tum is mass x velocity and d he has developed a patent that other European manufa tures copy.tekton has a 30 day trial go take the challenge. I have taken the tour of tekton and ps audio as you should too .happy listening even if it's the transister radio from the 70s.this should get the party going😃 |
dstryker77 - She chose the Harley like Orange. And I liked it. It was striking, different and received a lot of compliments. It might have made up for some of the so called "boxyness" that some people seem to be fixated on. As I stated, I would and will choose it again. |
''The Enxzo XL's specified sensitivity is an extraordinary 96.5dB/W/m; my estimated value was 90.6dB(B)/2.83V/m, which is much lower'' See here!
