Burmester 232 vs mono blocks in the same price range ange

Bought a Burmester 232 5 months back. Broken in by now. Absolutely love the signature sound. Just wondering if mono blocks in the same price range ($25K - $30K) would sound much better or the same. The Burmester was a blind purchase since I had it in my car and loved the sound. What is special about a $30K integrated amplifier in terms of audio circuitry etc?

I would spend around two or 3000 hours listening to my system before considering any changes. Have you spent enough time listening to even know what difference is you want in your system. Going out and buying stuff on a whim is fun, but you still have to put in the work to know what you want in the end it just doesn’t come magically.

It is great you have love the sound of your gear. That was incredibly likely if you moved from lower level stuff and this is your first jump into the high end... any flavor of high end is likely to be a revelation. As it should be. We don't spend tens of thousands of dollars on audio equipment to get rid of our money.

Companies have house sounds. This is very true with Burmeister. They have a particular sound... very discrete, very detailed, powerful which translates in holographic sonic spectacular through good speakers. As opposed to being musical and having a natural presentation.

It isn't much about circuitry as it is about power. You will get a lot more oomph with a set of Burmeister monoblocks and even better imaging. An audio designer could use exactly the same circuitry in two amps or preamps and by the choice of its components make them sound completely differently.

If this has gotten you interested in in the high end... I recommend reading Robert Harley's book The Complete Guide to High End Audio. It is a whole world unto itself, and this is a great introduction.

If you go ahead and get the monoblocks, you are likely to be very pleased... but you will not know if going in a different direction would have been much more rewarding.

@m2team00 And also Burmester's reputation, my friend. Burmester's status as Germany's premier audio brand. And guess what, the blind purchase proved to be a great move. Only reason I inquired about mono blocks is because my Burmester 232 sounds so good I  curious is why people would pay for $200K Burmester mono blocks. Are they really that much better?  They probably are. Anyway.since I am new to the high end world, this is all just curiosity. There's no end game in this world.

My system is Burmester 232 + Focal Kanta 3 + Cardas Clear Reflection cables + Lumin D2 streamer + SBooster Eco Mkii power supply + AudioQuest 303 Power Conditioner + ifi iPower x/ifi IPurifier Pro + Isoacoustics OREA Bordeaux feet. Spent about $85K and I would say my system punches at about 3 times its weight. Easily sounds like a $250K system that I auditioned at 3ma Audio in Houston
