I’m told that converting my turntable’s power supply from a wall wart to a linear power supply will audibly improve sound quality by reducing noise. Can anyone confirm this claim?
You know, the switch mode power supplies that Technics uses in it’s 1200 series turntables aren't much more sophisticated than the ones that are used in the average wall wort.
This is not the same technology as in plug-in power supplies. There are excellent integrated switching power supplies, especially LINN, as well as Technics. It doesn’t matter when it comes to you: errors are human.
I have been wondering the same thing regarding my Clear Audio Concept with a Hana ML cart. I've upgraded the wall wort and it is dead quiet. I would consider changing to Clear Audio's DC power supply. Anyone out there with experience with this table?
