Eversolo DMP-A6: Anyone experience tracks randomly skipping to next track, mid-song?

My DMP-A6 has an issue where a track will randomly skip to the next one, mid-song.

Not to sound crotchety, but I am sort of over having issues like this on devices that cost so much (I know not that much in the world of hi end audio, but it’s still not peanuts). This is a device whose only real purpose is to stream music, it shouldn’t have tech issues at all.

Anyway, has anyone else experienced this? Any workthroughs?

Just a bit disgruntled, because I currently have two devices that I spent more on than I’ve ever spent on that type of component - one has had persistent issues, which I'm paying additional $ to the company that designed said component to fix, and now this. It certainly doesn’t make me want to upgrade to a higher end streamer which still might have bad tech.

Anyway, anyone experience this and any fix besides restarting (software is up to date)? I am starting to miss just putting a CD on and having it play no problem.

Thank you for any insight to your experience

Thank you both very much for your responses. Good to know I am not the only one. I guess Qobuz downloaded tracks aren’t stored locally on the Eversolo (or maybe that's wrong), so they would still rely on stable network. The issue is not consistent, so not the easiest to troubleshoot. I have a tenuous grasp on what UPnP even is - tried to navigate that some years ago. Anyway thanks to both of you for the help, gives me some things to explore.

Sorry to hear.  I had similar issues with 2 different Eversolos, the 6 and the 8, so both were returned.  I question if there are issues with the network if it didn’t happen with your previous equipment.  I stream Qobuz too.   I haven’t had the same issues with my Innuos Zen MK3 streamer.  Good luck!

Did this just start happening? I have an A8 and the latest software upgrade has caused issues where songs cut out a few seconds before the end or mid-stream. It's happened before with a previous update and they fixed it but it's happening again.

@bassbuyer Thanks! I have begun to explore whether it could be a network issue...I kind of don't think it is as we have fast internet with few issues, and the thing is that when it skips, it immediately starts a new song, which you'd think wouldn't happen if connectivity was a problem (as it wouldn't be able to immediately load a new song).

@medphys This started happening...well maybe a month or two ago...have had the streamer for a year now. I have been through at least a couple software updates in the time this has been happening, i'd guess.
