Denafrips Iris

Does the Iris DDC elevate the performance of the Denafrips Enyo 15th to

another level, or a more subtle change?

My current configuration
Fiio SR11 Network Streamer with Sbooster LPS usb out to
Denafrips Enyo 15th rca to
Belles Aria Two Integrated
Vandersteen VLR CT Speakers
Audioquest power conditioning and cables

I would likely use I2S from the DDC to the Enyo.  I am also swapping my cables out of the Enyo from AQ Golden Gate to AQ Mackenzie XLR.

Appreciate your insight.

I agree with both posters above to some extent. The Iris (and all the Denafrips DDC units) are excellent, especially when used with I2S. I don't doubt it would be a decent upgrade for you. But I also agree with the other point that pointing that money towards an upgrade to your actual streamer makes more sense overall.

My bad — I didn’t look at your streamer and was focusing more on the DAC/DDC side and agree with @davide256 and would get a new streamer first.  Apologies for my oversight.  Still think you’d hear nice benefits with an Iris, but IMHO and given your steamer it’s kinda like putting the cart before the horse.  Adding an Iris later (or doing both if possible now) is still a good idea though.

@gcknapp All depends on how resolving your audio chain is,  what you are willing to spend. I dabbled with streaming solutions under $2k for quite a while; using a NAS with minimstreamer, an endpoint like ultraRendu/Holo Red and tablet controller software such as JPlay is  pretty satisfying. Eventually I wanted better resolution/ realism and bought an Innuos Pulse because their gear was always the heart of the showrooms I liked best at CAF. All in one box solutions are pretty hard to get right at a lower cost but a USB  endpoint device is pretty cost effective at isolating the  file server from the DAC for clearer sound.

Picked up a Denafrips Arce streamer, which has built in DDC.  Awesome upgrade.  I’m set for now….
