ronkent - my answer re monoblocks could be misleading. My reference was to a stereo amp bridged to mono. In that case its source impedance drops along with exacerbating problems with low-impedance speakers like Thiel.
However, a single-channel monoblock may or may not have that lowered source impedance. If its source impedance matches its stereo counterpart, then you get all advantages with no disadvantages.
