It may be a frequency range that is a null point in your room. Try listening up very close to the speaker and see if it's coming out but disappearing as you move away.
Odd missing vocals?
Bedroom system - Bluesound Node to a Rotel RB-1070 to KEF Q150s. Streaming from Qobuz Bee Gees Nights on Broadway. SQ is ok, not stellar, and something seems amiss. I realize I can’t hear Barry Gibb’s falsetto “echo vocals.” You know, on the refrain “blaming it all….blame it on the nights on broadway…”
I played three different tracks of the same song - same thing. Listened to it just on my iPhone, and it plays normally. Any ideas? The Node has always been fine with an old receiver as the amp. Could this older Rotel have a problem? It just seems so weird.

Google AI search: trouble with Midrange vocals missing on Bluesound Node
. |
Ok, just back home in Chicago from the NYC snowmageddon! I tried reversing the polarity on one speaker, then the other, but still had the odd missing vocals. On a whim, I reversed the left and right outputs. Viola! The music is full range and the missing vocals appeared! It doesn’t really make sense (does it?) but I’ll leave well enough alone. |
