Great question! I just recently purchased the Sopra N°3’s. Very bright as you see but better not that they’ve broken in somewhat. I still have a Class A Krell amp that is MARVELOUS but not a great match for the speakers. Fortunately, I have a Lyngdorf MP – 60 with RoomPerfect. As a result, I have been able to mitigate much of this by using Voicings that were created for me by AI.
I performed exhaustive research, relying on not one, not two but three different AI resources, including mainly ChatGPT and Google‘s Gemini. I double and triple checked and I tried to trip AI up multiple times and in each time after I asked what the best amplifier was to pair with my speakers, the winner was always the Accuphase A-80. LIKE IT OR NOT PEOPLE, AI IS THE FUTURE AND IT’S VERY MUCH LIKE HAVING YOUR OWN HIGHLY TRAINED AUDIO CONSULTANT IN YOUR LIVING ROOM. And sorry for the capitalized letters here but not worth going back to redo. I would recommend you learn how to empower yourself by using AI and understand that what’s critical is that you give it as much information as you possibly can, most expressly concerning room dimensions, if or if not, you have subs the kind of music you enjoy and the listening level that you typically listen at. Ask for the best five amplifiers in whatever price range your budget might be. In my case, I asked for the top five options between $20,000 and $50,000. But again it can be anything. You can also take photos and upload the photos, so the AI but can see the room and see your speakers. In my case, it even told me precisely how much toe-in I should use to optimize the sound stage.
I am enjoying my KRELL but my new Accuphase (known to be fantastic with Focal beryllium speakers) is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday. As an aside, one of my Facebook friends who belongs to the same Focal group as I do asked for a recommendation for his Scala Utopias. He was going to buy Pass Labs mono blocks. He is now enjoying the hell out of HIS new Accuphase A-80.
