Spotify lossless error into DDC

Usually run Qobuz, but thought I’d try Spotify lossless since I have a premium account already for the family. I’m getting an error in Conductor via a popup window saying I need to connect a USB DAC.  Anyone else seeing this? No response from Aurender support yet… thanks

Is Spotify really lossless 100% of the time?  The last I looked at it only some of what they broadcast is lossless, the rest is lossy.

I’m not an expert but I’m told it’s not “bit perfect” but I’m seeing folks say they can’t hear a difference from Qobuz… I thought I’d check for myself since I have the account already. From what I’ve seen, the hi rez context isn’t clearly marked but maybe their claim is that everything is available since their lossless is CD quality-
