worth the repair?

I Just purchased a McIntosh MA 252 and connected it to my vintage Marantz 2270 and Tascam 200 CD. My speakers are B&W 603 s2.I turned it on and before playing a cd I head a loud crackle and one speaker went dead. I fear my connections are bad, need help from an expert. Question is, is it worth repairing the speakers with this setup? I always liked them, but maybe time to upgrade, like to B&W or Sonus Faber.Opinions?  What do you think B&W would charge before I pay the cost of mailing.

oh boy, I sure hope not. The Marantz waa always fine, but the McIntosh is new/used and played very nicely for the first week I had it, now I can't figger out why it doesn't play FM radio, only the cd! thank you. what does DC mean?

could it be that the fellow who sold me the mcIntosh and set it up for me inadverftently crossed the wires and caused an overload?

Why a hybrid integrated amp is connected to a receiver?

always wanted to experiment with tubes and the fellow told me this is the way to use the hybrid as the amp and the receiver for the sound.  the McIntosh can't receive signals free standing. i hope I did he right thing, not too savvy in this area.

Just to clarify, do you have the Marantz set up as a preamp, with your Cd player plugged into one of the Marantz inputs?  This would give you the CD player and the FM tuner as sources.

From there, do you have the Marantz Preouts connected to the MA252 inputs, using it as the amplifier in this setup?

If the CD plays fine through both speakers, but the FM doesn't, that tells me the issue is in the Marantz receiver somewhere.
