A good rectifier tube should last a very long time, and seeing that the current one you have is not very old at all, chances are a new one of the same model and brand (Ray tubes Select 5U4G) will be equally as strong.
Importance of matching 5U4G rectifier tubes.
I have a Woo Audio WA6-SE headphone amp that uses 1 5u4g rectifier tube. I had just purchased a single Ray Select 5U4G tube. I was fortunate to be able to upgrade to a Woo Audio WA5-LE headphone amp which uses 2 5U4G rectifier tubes. I want to purchase another Ray Select 5U4G tube to have 2 for the new amp. However they won’t be matched. How important is it to have matching rectifier tubes?
