Building Or Buying Wood Earcups For 50mm Drivers

Hi,

My former Quad ESL technician put a very good sounding pair of headphones for me. They are completely plastic and were built with a 3-D printer. I was shooting the Schiit with my local dealer and he said that they would sound better if I made wooden earcups for the 50mm drivers. I have no idea where to even start. Can someone help me with this?

Thanks

Check with John at JM Audio Editions. He might be able to help with the build, or put you in touch with his CNC guy.

By the way, John’s own headphone designs are end game at reasonable prices and service you’re unlikely to find anywhere else. I own a pair of his XTC 2.5 closed backs.
