One other question I have - I've only got @ 6' c-to-c between my speakers, is that enough for the average OB?

@fastricky I did try out a pair of Caladan and although they were ok, it was just something missing. Once I heard the PAP's, I knew I had found exactly what I was looking for. With only 6', you should probably look towards the Trio10... I think the larger Trio15 (or Duet15), might be a bit too much, but I would talk to Ze'ev from PAP; he's very knowledgeable and always willing to help. |
I have a pair of the Lii Song Liionidas Extreme open baffles with the Platinum 10 wide bander. When i got them, i was extremely disappointed. They sounded terrible. Even after 3 weeks of running in, i couldn't get them to sound good. Cut to the chase, the internal crossover was wired out of phase and just plainly sounded bad. So i decied to bi-amp them, bypassing that crossover. Now, these are the best sounding speakers i've ever had. They completely wipe the floor from my previous JBL4365's. They are dynamic as hell, the bass is better than when i had my SVS sub. Imaging, soundstage and over all musical engagment is like nothing i've had. I run the P10 direct (no crossover) direct from my Ayon Spark V (18w single ended 6CC3), and the W15 woofers are run by a Yamaha PX5 crossing over at 150Hz. I'm so glad that after a little hard work i got these to sound the way they do. And along the way, i learned how crossovers and driver integration work. Like many other have said in this thread, i will never go back to a box speaker again. |
