I recently purchased a Rivo Plus and it’s totally blown me away soundwise. SQ is more important to me than measurements and this unit really is day and night over my previous Bluesound N130 & Silent Angel M1T. I can’t believe the depth & nuisances I’ve been missing all this time. I just ordered a LHY Audio LVS50A power supply from Alvin Lee that other Rivo Plus owners state should really solid up the bass.
The new app update being a total rebuild of the app from Volumio is due out in March and should make it an even better piece than what it already is. With the right set of interconnects, I’m using Cardas Clears, it’s certainly worth a look / listen in the under $5k segment with many reviewers claiming it sounds as good if not better than those over $5k.

I got your msg, and I’ve been able to answer msgs in the past but for some reason now it won’t let me… Anyway in regards to your question, at 1st I felt the unit to be a little bright, but now I think it just the transparency I’m experiencing that was lacking before. I’ve had a few of my Audiophile friends here and they couldn’t believe How some tracks sounded, One even commented it was the best he’s ever heard the cut he requested to be played. My set up in general is slightly forward, the bass on Rivo Plus at times could be a little thin and that’s why after doing much research I’m opting for the LPS 50 VA by LHY Audio. Seems everything I’ve read by adding the Power supply should increase the bass with a little bit more punch. I do have to say playing through the USB with my hard drive sounds spectacular as well. An added bonus is I connect the HDMI output to my Projector and it shows the album art of what’s playing. I’m really starting to like it, The Musical instrument separation, sound stage and depth are certainly noticeable over the Bluesound & Silent Angel. |
@jamsh the SW1X VDTs are super good. They sound organic and alive in a way I don't hear from traditional approaches. Hit me up if you'd like to hear one in your system. |
@gestalt sent you a message, I'd love to try one. |
