Ethernet

I’m considering using a 25 foot ethernet cable run from my router to my Node N130 instead of using wi-fi. Will there be an improvement by bypassing the wifi receiver inside the Node? Any recommendations/input would be much appreciated..

“Every instruction says go into the Node app and into the Players setting but the app automatically goes to the searching for wifi mode as soon as it opens. It seems like an app issue but deleting and reinstalling the app did nothing.”
@maprik

The app communicates with the Node exclusively over Wi-Fi; the Ethernet connection applies to the Node hardware, not the BluOS app itself. The process for hardwiring the Node is covered in the video at approximately the 4-minute mark.

Given the Node’s architecture, I don’t see hardwiring is necessary unless your Wi-Fi is spotty.

@steakster Just a note: Keep in mind, that post refers to issues with digital to analog conversion, which takes place in the DAC section.

Ok I've got the TP link configured into my wifi system powered by an Anker battery pack and....

Wow, I do hear an improvement in all areas. Clarity and detail. I already had a super black background. Sounds like everything is just more focused. Imaging is a bit tighter. Like the bass in Diana Krall’s Temptation. The bass is smaller and tighter now, which is good, before it was large and kind of diffuse. That’s just an example. Wow. I’m a believer.
