Purging, instead of endlessly storing

Hobbies mean collecting/upgrading, which eventually leads to too much stuff.  I’m again purging a very good system to a friend so that it no longer sits idle in original boxes.  Everyone has their own style.  Selling here on A’gon also has merit.

My philosophy;  balancing the steep depreciation against someone truly appreciating a fine upgrade.  That leads me in this direction.  Hope to encourage others by example. Not preaching, as I don’t do missionary work.  No virtue signaling, hate that.

They will get Rega CD, Naim DAC 1, Merlin BM monitors, Sound Organization massed stands, Quadrasprie SVT equipment stand, JL Dominion sub, quality cabling.   They will start 2026 in that way.  Cheers and Happy New Year

I love endless sorting as I sometimes plug in my carver stuff in the rotation.enjoy the giving even if it to yourself in the form of a new recap.

I sold 7 items in my audio systems in the past 4 weeks. Love the fact that my rack is looking so empty. Got better sound too with less gear.

I sold a bunch of gear in the past 2 months also. All good stuff, just unneeded by me. Liberating.

wouldn't it be nice to have a database or even just a google spreadsheet where we could list what we don't need or want to swap.

Roadtrip starts today to donate/deliver the entire system referenced in original post. The decision now is to gift the Luxman 509x as power.  Why?  62 lbs. raw, 80 lbs. triple boxed.  Do I need that in my life?  What a pig!  Shiny, but still a pig!

I'm 68 and still quite physically viable.  25 years of radiology patients passing through focused me on back, shoulder and knee injury and I don't want it.  Large stereo pieces going away before the "oh crap moment".  Then, all that's left are surgeons with scalpels and a smile.  $$$$ !!!!  Then rehab.  No thanks.
