Conrad-Johnson CAV-60 integrated amplifier

this is a TAS review , but i am looking for some insite fron somebody that tried.

i had one of these back in the day - sweet highs and mids but weak and undefined bass, surpassed easily by audio research tube amp equivalents

Did you have one of the models from previous years, or something more current?
Because I remember that in previous years, for example I heard one of these in the nineties, they were more sweet and round.
I recently tested an Audio Research 70 at home and it was very sharp and a bit thin to my taste.
But I guess it also depends on the combination with the other components
