@audiostick Basically, my understanding is the XC ones designed to go with Shunyata’s power conditioners don’t have filtering in the cable, as the power conditioner does that. The cables are identical otherwise- same 6 gauge for Sigma NR and XC.
The NR cables have filtering to block the noise going backwards from the component it is connected to from contaminating all the other components in the system. That is why the NR ones are slightly more money than the XC ones. There is no disadvantage to go with a NR cable for the Shunyata power conditioner, just there is no point paying the extra money over the XC.
But, Shunyata states if one is not using their power conditioner it may be beneficial to use a NR cable for the filtering that the power conditioner it is connected to may not have.
My reason? I got a good deal on it.
