Aurender N100h disconnection problems

Hello - hoping others can help me get my Aurender N100h to work.  Since I do not have an ethernet connection anywhere near my equipment, I am using a wifi extender.  I know it works well as I have been using this setup with a WIIM Pro for sometime and it works perfectly without any dropouts or disconnections.  

I have managed to get the Aurender to play a couple of times before it disconnects.  I have cycled it on/off multiple times.  I am really very knowledge deficient when it comes to networking protocols etc.  I am using ios 26 on an iphone 16 with Conductor app version 5. 

During the "find Aurender" in the app, sometimes it shows the model, but oftentimes it just keeps searching and does not find it. 

The prior owner has a bunch of music on the HD and sometimes I can see it and most times not.  The front 4 buttons for the most part do not do anything, other than when it finds the stored HD music. 

Most of the time, the screen says aurender N100 and nothing changes.

I have tried the 20 second hold and also have gone to the rear button out of frustration when it just seems stuck.

I expect that there are many aurender owners on this forum and hoping others can assist.  I did open a ticket which apparently goes to Korea.  I have read customer service is supposed to be very helpful.

So I think the issue is the wireless extender.  As a test, I moved the unit to the router room and it has been running for hours without a hitch so far.  Unfortunately this does not solve the issue as the router is no where near the audio setup.

I did order a Netgear Powerline Adapter kit PLP 2000-100PAS as is noted on the aurender help site.  It is supposed to arrive Monday.    

As I noted previously, the extender approach works flawlessly with a WIIM Pro.  The WIIM is obviously very much newer than the N100, so maybe that is why it works.  The little I was able to hear the N100 it sounded very refined, although not orders of magnitude better than the super cheap WIIM.  

I will report back on the Netgear Powerline.  Wish me luck.

This may not be attractive in your case, but in the event it is and if the Netgear Powerline Adapter kit PLP 2000-100PAS doesn’t work to your satisfaction, have you considered whether you can get a fiber optic cable from your router to where the Aurender is?  

Often because fiber optic cable is so small diameter and flexible, an installer (or a DIYer) can get one from pretty far away in a home to where you want an Ethernet connection to be with minimal bad visual impact (e.g., up in the ceiling and over and then down to where your Aurender is).  If so, then you’d just need a fiber media converter (e.g., StarTech MFC) (or a switch with a SFP slot, e.g., Ubi Flex 2.5G) and SFP transducer module (e.g., Finisar SFP or if you go with a Ubiquity switch,  Ubiquity LC Single Mode 1G SFP module ) at each end.  If this is practicable, you’ll likely get a more stable feed and better SQ than the WiFi extender route.

(Keep an eye on fiber and SFP module compatibility — i think you need to keep them all single mode or all multi-mode and not all brands of SFP modules work with all switches and FMCs.)

I had this problem with my Aurender N100H. When I replaced it with an Aurender N200, I couldn’t get my iPad to connect with the Aurender at all.

Then, out of desperation, I replaced my fancy $300 audiophile Ethernet cable to my Aurender with a $10 garden variety Cat5 Ethernet cable, no issues at all.

My problem was a defective Ethernet cable, likely a fault in filtering circuits in the cable. I went to my superb dealer with my four year old defective cable, and he tested it on equipment in a listening room. Yup, didn’t connect. He replaced it with a new version that works great.

My advice is to try replacing the Ethernet cable and see if it fixes it.
