@mclinnguy I have over two thousand CDs, and an equal number of LPs. The listening room is upstairs over the garage, and the bulk of the collection is downstairs. Fortunately for sonics, but unfortunately for storage, the long walls are non-parallel, i.e., slanted like the roof. So, you can’t have storage upon them or up against them without wasted space behind. Honestly, the room sounds pretty good! Particularly considering the stereo shares space with drums, P.A., guitar amps, and recording equipment.
Any holes in my streaming rig?
Though I'm relatively new to streaming, what I've put together in the last six months is very enjoyable. I'm just wondering if there's something obvious that I'm missing.
I started off with a Cambridge Audio MXN10, and it was better than I expected. But... I soon added a LAiV Harmony DAC and used the Cambridge Audio as a streamer. This was a major improvement. Then I bought the LAiV Audio micro DDC for even better performance. (Most recently augmented with the LHY LPS25VA linear power supply.)
Realizing that the streaming mechanism built into the MXN10 may not be the best, I replaced it with a PS Audio AirLens. This was another significant step up. All I stream is Qobuz, via Qobuz Connect.
I have a mesh network for Wi-Fi. A Furutech Ethernet cable is plugged into the nearest mesh pod. That cable leads to the AirLens. From the AirLens, I have a Furutech I2S cable to the Micro DDC. From the Micro DDC to the Harmony DAC is a DH Labs Silver Sonic I2S cable.
If you think there is something that I've overlooked, or any suggestions/advice you have, please let me know.

@dbastin You are correct, sir. I used inaccurate terminology. It is the possibility of improving my network that I'm curious about. My very recent awareness of dedicated audio network products hints at what a potential money pit that could be. I appreciate the very specific suggestions contained in your second paragraph. A few years ago I thought the same thing. I read about this Etherregen, huge thread over on Audiophilestyle. Is this thing going to make a $700 difference in my system? I bought it and it did, at the time it was slight. There was a 30 day guarantee, but although I wasn’t sure that was the best $700 I could have spent, I kept it in my system. As my system evolved, and the resolution improved with each component upgrade I decided to take it out of the system a while back. Holy cow, I sure noticed the difference now. The funny thing about digital, you think it sounds great, there is no grain or etched sound, until some of it is removed and then you realize well damn, I did have some grain! And then once you hear it with its new smoothness, blacker backgrounds and openness after some filtering there is no way you can go back. Etherregen version I is now sold out, Last I heard Alex had 7 returns from the first 3,200 sold, so most people felt the same way I did. I will probably end up going like many others and upgrade from this etherregen to a Tempus. Not a small purchase. I also own the smoothlan, and with a 30 day guarantee I kept it too. You don’t know until you try.
