Streamers Node Nano vs. Wiim

Hey I just ordered the nano, but I might want to test out the wiim as well...

  • Is the sound quality comparable?

The primary reason is the Wiim has a touch screen.

Thoughts?

TIA

I have a Wiim streamer. I hate it. It's connected via Ethernet. If it loses the connection or power it's a pain to get it going again. Uninstalling and re-installing app on my phone or iPad. I much care for the connections on the back, not interconnect friendly. Does lots of things that I don't use. DAC is to be as expected for a $200 item and I don't use that either. The sound gets to be sub-par when you have listened to it for a  while then move to another device.

I'll be buying something else soon. Most likely a Node. Pre-owned  higher end streamers are beyond my reach. Besides, a warranty is nice to have. The Node does so much so  little. In Canada, there is nothing at it's price point to match it that I know of.

if going after a quality streamer is a budget problem might I suggest you speak with a financial advisor.

@gkelly thank you for the financial advice.  I currently financed a waterbed through Affirm. Maybe a better streamer is in the cards after I pay that off in 13 years.  Cheers!

Through my house I have 3 WiiM Ultras and 2 Pro +. All have worked flawlessly with no issues as one described above. For my needs they are exceptional whether being used as a pure streamer with an external DAC or using them “stand-alone” utilizing the internal DAC.  All good here….
