Ethernet switch worthwhile?

Lowering jitter from the IP packets at ethernet level! 

If these things work at all it is completely nothing to do with BS claims like lowering jitter from ethernet level packets. 

Any technical level discussion or measurements, like the ASMR ones linked to, show absolutely no difference, so what would be really good is if someone conducted actual double-blind tests that isolated oroducts/cables that proved to provide any sort of improvement, and then the reason for that improvement could be figured out.

But reducing noise/improving jitter at the ethernet level is just smoke being blown up ar8s of potential customers - technically it would make no difference anyway because of the discontinuity between what is on the network cable and how it is presented to the DAC.

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES 

The full Monty of an audiophile grade Ethernet switch AND a quality build external linear power supply for it  AND in combo with premium- build audiophile grade Ethernet cables made a positive improvement in my high-end “A” system. 

The use of the premium build Ethernet cables mattered in all four of my audio systems, but the benefits of the switch / linear power supply insertion in my lesser “B”, “C”, and “D” diminished in proportion to its pricepoint. My bottom system at $4K had a test run that was determined to be perceptively  absent . 
 

TAKEAWAY 

The degree  of an audiophile switch audio improvement was heavily dependent on:

- inclusion of an external quality build linear power supply to drive it, and,

- inclusion of premium audiophile  Grade Ethernet cables ( think Ag over Cu build with premium shielding and TELEGARTNER connectors);

- the degree of audio performance resolution provided by your cradle-to-grave system components as a whole.

i concur with Grunge 1000.  Before buying anything like this, you should read up and understand how packet networking functions.
