What’s the Sweet Spot price point wise in your audio journey?

I ask the question because there are so much gear at vastly different price points.  My sweet spot is the 15-30k range. That’s where my speakers, amp, and Dac for the most part sets. There are good things below the prices but there is synergy and  price/performance when purchasing audio. For some folks it’s the 5-15 range. It just depends on what you budget is you can fund great stuff all over Audio. Thoughts! No negativity. Just real answers.

Perhaps the old saying, "A woman will buy something she doesn't need if it is on sale, while a man will buy something he needs even if it's twice the normal price", may not be gender specific after all.

"As Maslow’s Hierarchy of Human Needs famously showed, we don’t need a whole lot to physically survive in our modern age. Food, shelter, and clothing are the essentials, and, fortunately, most Americans can scrape together enough money to pay for those things. (Healthcare is sadly a whole different story.) There are lots of other things that are not strictly essential but are certainly good to have to operate in society. Soap, for example, is highly recommended."

Healthcare is sadly a whole different story.

Without healthcare, you may not need to worry much longer.

A national treasure…..
Thankfully, for the last 80 years in the UK, we have had the NHS with free “at point of use” functionality for ALL. The “sweet spot” for those with a medical emergency journey.
Luckily for us, an option for insurance paid private treatment here is an exception to the rule, and not THE rule.

I do enjoy reading about audio but I think the best info is people who own it and why.most of my stuff is used at < 50% off to stretch the budget. Enjoy what you have. All used and I enjoyed talking to audiophiles I have meet picking it up in person. Stay healthy

I find it odd that posters correlate spending with audio quality, and that the question of a "sweet spot" is about the cost of an item.  Of course, I get it that if one wants to "quantify" their audio hobby there are few ways to do it other than spend, but after many years in this hobby I don't believe that spend directly correlates to positive aural experience with a system.

I agree with the posters that say that synergy and engineering a system to taste, which generally takes knowledge, not spend, has a greater influence.

That said, note that I said "aural" experience above.  I would tend to agree that spend does correlate to positive visual experience. In other words, expensive pieces tend to look pretty, or very cool, or very something else. Like those mono-blocks that look like droids. And with these pristine sci-fi looking setups, I am sure people love to just look at their systems.

My personal sweet spot is hunting used gear with the best synergies. My system is set up for easy swapping of component combinations.  It ain't pretty, but it conveys a lot of knowledge and experience.
