A crucial part of the spending decision for me, involves probable resale value...I’ve bought a number of more expensive than I wanted to spend items, because I knew the resale value would be very good...just sold 2 of these, and my cost of 6 years of ownership was quite low...especially if you can buy at a good used price...
What’s the Sweet Spot price point wise in your audio journey?
I ask the question because there are so much gear at vastly different price points. My sweet spot is the 15-30k range. That’s where my speakers, amp, and Dac for the most part sets. There are good things below the prices but there is synergy and price/performance when purchasing audio. For some folks it’s the 5-15 range. It just depends on what you budget is you can fund great stuff all over Audio. Thoughts! No negativity. Just real answers.

@calvinj you are right, it's my place to determine who is wealthy and who isn't. I just spend too much time in dirt poor places all over the world, I am shocked at many zeros |
@parkergetdean no problem my man. We all have things we like and don’t and different priorities in this hobby of ours. No problem. Everybody has a space they comfortable in |
of course I meant it's NOT my place, sorry @calvinj Enjoy your amazing system, you deserve it. |
Perhaps the old saying, "A woman will buy something she doesn't need if it is on sale, while a man will buy something he needs even if it's twice the normal price", may not be gender specific after all. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/future-trends/202204/why-do-we-buy-things-we-don-t-need "As Maslow’s Hierarchy of Human Needs famously showed, we don’t need a whole lot to physically survive in our modern age. Food, shelter, and clothing are the essentials, and, fortunately, most Americans can scrape together enough money to pay for those things. (Healthcare is sadly a whole different story.) There are lots of other things that are not strictly essential but are certainly good to have to operate in society. Soap, for example, is highly recommended." |
