Who here continues to regularly use a CD player?

I do have a CD player, however, at this point, I rarely use it. I mostly listen to vinyl and stream.

Do you still regularly use your CD spinner?

I am a fan of CDs and currently use two CD players/transports (Cary Audio 300-200 and Pioneer Elite PD-65) and two DACs (Audio Research DAC2 - SS with Ultra Analog D20400 chip, Audio Research DAC3 - Tube with Delta-Sigma). I am not sure if I will use a streamer anytime soon. I also use vinyl and those keep me plenty busy.

I still use a CD player or DVD player to play CDs. also have a selection of clamshell CD players that are handy in the bedroom.

My best audiophile buddy called me a dinosaur at our dinner meeting last week as I discussed buying that latest The Bros. Landreth CD (BTW its called Dog Ear and they are a great Canadian band), and he was contemplating the acquisition of a new LuminX2 to replace his LuminX1 streamer - his system sounds great and very detailed.

However, each to his own 95% CD/SACD; 4% VINYL; 1% STREAMING and I play my system everyday using PSAudio Perfectwave CD/SACD transport with 6" I2S connection into my Denafrips Venus 15 DAC. And there are a number of reasons I will keep using CD/SACD as my primary source.

Like others here I have a ton of CDs (collected since 1982 when I bought my first CD player). I chose (and own) those CDs not for a single track but as albums I want to listen to as albums. At my age the sound quality of a CD and particularly an SACD (DSD) through a great DAC, Amplifier and Speakers is sufficient and to my ears sounds great. I have a few CDs in my collection not available via streaming, and I'm never worried about the Internet going down.

Perhaps most importantly I like to support musicians. CD and Vinyl purchases financially reward and supports artists while Streaming revenues starve (rip-off) most artists (hence the exorbitant prices we now pay for live music and band merchandise). I also like to see, touch and select from my physical CD collection.

Streaming I use to listen to 'new to me' artists and to help me decide whether to buy their work. As for sound, I use a WiiM Ultra COAX into DAC (I should try USB) and it's perfectly listenable.

So @zavato yes to using my CD spinner and yes to being a technology luddite (although I worked in IT for 20+ years) but I adore my CDs and I hate the Streaming business model!

I mostly stream but recently got an Audio Note CDT One/II and I really love it.  Sounds very good and I have started buying some CDs again.
