Who here continues to regularly use a CD player?

I do have a CD player, however, at this point, I rarely use it. I mostly listen to vinyl and stream.

Do you still regularly use your CD spinner?

Yes I do. I'm listening to my Esoteric Grandioso P1 / D1 as I type this.

It may be illogical, but I like listening to music where I made the commitment of buying a specific album - as opposed to just paying a general access subscription.

Not that I have anything against streaming - I just still enjoy my CDs - and vinyl.

@mylogic    I agree with you about the SYSTEMDEK IIX. They’re great TT’s for the money. I bought mine about 17 years ago with the stock tonearm and added a Sumiko Blue point special MC phono cartridge. The turntable was in very good shape for its age: I adjusted the suspension and cleaned out the bearing housing and re-oiled it. The motor was (and still is) in great shape.

The black paint finish on the TT had faded so I resprayed it with piano black semi gloss paint.

The bearings on the Profile tonearm were starting to wear at the time and at this point are worn out. So, I purchased a NOS Jelco S370H oil damped tonearm which was manufactured about the same time as the IIX.  And I plan to install that on the IIX in the future, along with a new belt.. 👍

Been doing it for decades. 80%cd10%vinal10% tape, oops common core math got me cuz that's 110%. Have 20 of those things only 1 does not work. Bought luxman 10x and soulution as of late. All used at least 50% off. I like going to the thrift store and fighting with gen z over the cd selection.ooh I forgot 10% stream . Enjoy the music and the fun ,stay healthy take your vitamins

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I gave up records when CD's arrived and have no interest in records any more. Absolutely the best sound quality is what I'm interested in. I have a restored McIntosh MR-71 FM tuner that is fabulous and don't mind the commercials cause it is a local station up in the mountains here. I also have SiriusXM radio in the house with the best tuner a 2004 Kenwood that doesn't sound too bad. I have 100's of CD's almost all have been replaced with remasters , and over 150 SACD's and SHM CD's. Purchased a Denon DCD-A110 SACD player couple of years ago thru my McIntosh MA 7900 int. amp and old JBL speakers good as it gets for me. I have no interest in ripping or streaming.
