What’s the Sweet Spot price point wise in your audio journey?

Mine is about $5k per component. But I’m on an upgrade path that hopefully ends with a budget of $20k for speakers. I have two kids in college. I do, however have two audiophile rigs: a two channel one and a 7.2.4 Focal HT. 
 

Some years ago I gave some leftover gear to my best friend who loves music like I do. Put together a nice, albeit older rig of Rega, Acurus and NAD components. Was just at his house and man that little setup just rocks. Makes me smile every time and he just loves it. Reminds me that it really doesn’t require megabucks to have a musically involving rig. It’s what I love about this hobby.

  75% off to be honest.  I'm a sucker for sales.  I have golf clubs in my shed I never use.  I hate golf, but they were 75% off. 

Per component $5 to $10K. Took some time to get there. 

A crucial part of the spending decision for me, involves probable resale value...I’ve bought a number of more expensive than I wanted to spend items, because I knew the resale value would be very good...just sold 2 of these, and my cost of 6 years of ownership was quite low...especially if you can buy at a  good used price...

@calvinj you are right, it's my place to determine who is wealthy and who isn't.

I just spend too much time in dirt poor places all over the world, I am shocked  at many zeros
