Is 7 feet way from wifi access point (ceiling) to stereo risky for noise?

For my stereo system, I have 2 seperete power lines running to keep no noise in my system. It's important for me to have that black background in the sound.

I want to get a Unifi router system with a wifi access point that mounts in the ceiling. The cieling type gives a donut type of signal through out the house. With the way my house is (kind of like a shoe box), my stereo is in the middle of the house. The wifi access point would also have to go near there... probably like 7 feet away. Is that risky in inducing noise into my stereo system?

Use a mesh system or Wi-Fi extender along with a good Ethernet cable to create a wired connection, and turn off the wireless networking on your streamer. The sound is noticeably better and darker.

My mesh router extension was a little farther than that from my Bluesound Node, and I got a strong signal, so I doubt you will have a problem, but I guess it depends on what sources of noise are in your environment.  I live in a suburban part of a small town, so there may be fewer sources of noise, although a university is just a few blocks away.

First time making any comments, but figured I’d share my situation just in case it’s helpful. I also use the EERO Mesh system and it worked great with no interference… but when we moved into our new house, I suddenly started getting loads of emi/rfi interference. It was very audible, and resembled old-school router noises. It was persistent and very annoying. I chased it down for months and ultimately determined that it was likely due to cheap-ish switching power supplies for the router and other ancillary items in the room. I have no idea why it was so bad on this particular house/location… but just goes to show that all situations and environments are unique. I ended up completely solving the issue by going to 100% balanced (xlr) interconnects. Now everything is quiet again. I’ll let others with more technical knowledge try to explain how/why this worked… I just know that it did.

The only time I've had issues with noise from my Wi-Fi router was when it was too close to my phono stage. It has a step up transformer and that picked up the noise from my router. It only needed to be 5 feet or less away for it to be gone completely. You should be fine.

I use the U6 Mesh access point sitting about 5 ft from my preamp and DAC and have no problems.  I don’t use tubes or a turntable and the connection to my amps are XLR. I doubt there would be a difference with the Wifi 7 AP you are considering. You will likely be fine. I use all unifi poe equipment including the switch in my equipment cabinet with no problems. The unifi equipment is very reliable and easy to configure. Great stuff.
