- Chesky monitors really were impressive.
- Popori's 2 rooms sounded great. I'm not normally a fan of panels. These have bass, detail, effortless dynamics, etc.
- QLN Prestige 3 Gen 2 are outstanding as are most QLN speakers I've heard (not the Sonoras).
- Wolf von Langas have a Devore O/96 look and sound to them (ish). Really pleasant and enjoyable.
- Fink Team Borg - Big speakers, decent value...even at $40k.
- Ø Audio with Boulder electronics - impressive, detailed, no harshness
- Charney - Odd looking horns, sounded really good
- Margules - beautiful and great sounding
- Songer - Beautiful system, nice sound.

Lots of good stuff here- disproves the notion you cant get great sound at a show. I’m looking forward to today when it should be a bit less crowded. absolutely agree on how impressive the Chesky Audio speakers are. Their designer is pretty impressive as well. incredibly well controlled bass and plenty of it. A real bargain at $2k. Easy to recommend. Avant Gard duos sounded great to me. Hard to describe the presence they bring to the music. The best horns I’ve heard. The best room to my ears is the one with the big Kharmas. At over $300k they should be good and they deliver. I’ll never own them-but I sure would like to. another excellent room has the Gobel speakers and EMM electronics. Stunningly good. Price is a flash point for some and this is another ultra expensive setup. I’ll never own that kind of rig, but can’t deny the superb performance. Volti speakers deliver great sound at a far less expensive but still not cheap price point. I thought the new Burmester all in one delivered great performance. Joining T+A and some others getting this right. Simplified setups that deliver good performance is likely the future of high end audio. I dont think the next generation will be as interested in 8 boxes and yards of cable. great show if you like vinyl- wonderful selection to buy. Also seems like more rooms are exclusively using analog sources good show. Happy to be here.

@orchardaudiollc great discounts. Thanks I also meant to mention the AGD room with Fisher and Fisher speakers, the smaller speakers, 371 or 471 I think. Really superb sound. Not at all they stereotype class D sound, excellent regardless of amplifier class. certainly a viable alternative to anything out there at least my ears. And the Fisher and Fisher speakers sounded great. what was even better is that the AGD designer, Alberto, was in the room and was providing answers to questions and a great explanation of the technology involved. Good room, |
I forgot to add...best sound at the show to me was the Tidal room. Speakers $64k, amp was like $94k, cables were eye watering expensive. Dual REL Carbon Specials. Amazing 3 dimensionality and realism. Speakers disappeared. I’m convinced the subs brought it to the next level. And they had doughnuts. AGD room sounded really good as usual. |
