Klipsch Cornwall IV

I have a pair of nearly new Klipsch Cornwall IV speakers for sale on this site. I am looking for opinions on the current status of the market for these loudspeakers. My ad has an asking price of $4300, which I believe is more than reasonable considering this pair is in mint condition and the price of a new pair is almost 7k. I see Forte IVs for sale for about the same asking price as Cornwall IVs. So, what gives, has the market for these collapsed? My ad has been up for a while and there hasn't been one inquiry about this ad.

Some simple things I did with my Cornwalls - Punched out some .75 inch circles of black duct tape to adhere to the outside faces of the mid-range horn. Also, put one of the circles on the tweeter. This technique seems to be the perfect damping without over-damping, and you can play with it to your heart's content with a minimum of fuss.

Placed an 18 pound bar of lead with self-stick vinyl feet on the inside bottom of the cabinet (access via the middle front port) to dampen the cabinet low frequency resonances. More than this weight begins to over-dampen the upper frequencies.

Flanked the speakers with REL S812 subwoofers.

Did some work on the listening room.

Voila.

I bought mine new as B-stock. The woodgrain didn’t come out “book matched”, which I couldn’t care less about. I got them for $4900.00 out the door with free delivery, so that’s part of the problem with your sale offer. That said, I think yours will sell given some time and good local pickup advertising. Don’t listen to the haters… nobody ever hears my system and thinks anything negative about the sound😄

Certainly is a fair price for these speakers.  Anyone who jumps on to give their negative opinion of CW’s is on the wrong thread as that’s not what you were asking.  CW’s are a niche because of their size, but patience will pay off here.

I would definitely try USAM, if you haven't already.  When I get to around 30 days on a sale, I turn it off and start a new ad with some new pics.  Those ads that run for 2-3 months or more get a weird stigma about them.  I like the featured upgrade on USAM as well.  It is a nice way to throw some appreciation to USAM.  I love how hands-off they are and just let us work with one another.

Jeez Deep 333, where did that come from? The dude asked a valid question and did so politely, he did not ‘whine’ as you so delicately put it, unlike your attack’ish response from nowhere…

‘If it was a fabulous heirloom speaker as is, you would keep it, wouldn’t you? (Not be trying to sell it and whine because you got low ball'd or whatever)’
