Technics SL1200G cables and headshell choice

Hi all,

I finally pulled the trigger and bought myself a new SL1200G.

Now I’m in the search for a light headshell with azimuth adjustment. Im intrigued by wooden ones but im a bit lost since not many reviews are available.

For example:

they all weights 8 grams more or less.

cartridge im using at the moment is Hana ML.

Do you reckon that wood is a good material for the headshell? I dont mind a warmer sound.
 

Im also looking for an high quality phono cable with good shielding and low capacitance, as for the power cord. 
for the headshell im willing to spend not more than 150 euro and for the cablea im fine to buy second hand, budget is 200 euros top.

I used the Jelco magnesium head-shells with my 1200g, You do have to pay attention to the total weight combo with the factory arm on the 1200g. PM if you would like to buy some as I have 2-3 of them left since I sold my 1200g and bought a EMT-948.

I got two that were cheap: one too thin all aluminum, other Plastic from Pats, they were flexible, threw them out

this is a strong alloy: aluminum/magnesium, 13g; long slots, open sides, azimuth adjust, wires, allen wrench and two optional length screws included

  1. Small Bubble Levels, 6mm diameter and light enough to leave on top of the armwand/headshell above the cartridge. I use tiny specks of poster tack to keep them on. Set tracking force when they are in place.
