Grammy for AI generated music

I’m elderly and a seasoned listener. I am also a traditionalist and institutionalist. I grew up in Memphis,TN listening and having the honor to meet some amazing musicians — like Elvis, Issac Hayes, Al Green, Staple Singers, Otis Redding, Barkays, Booker T & MG’s, and Rufus Thomas. Stax Records, King Studios, Blues Alley, and Beale Street were only a bus stop away, where they sometimes welcomed limited resource black kids like me into the studios and clubs. Today, I heard a newly released, AI generated R&B ballad. It was strikingly good. The originator openly acknowledged that she could not sing nor play an instrument, but was very creative. AI gave her a creative vehicle. Will a day come when the Academy recognizes and lauds the people talent that oversees AI developed music? I for one think it’s in our music future. Much like film ultimately came to partner with stage.

There’s so much bad music out there as is, that AI music will live in that arena no matter how technically ‘good’ the melody is.  Without true human soul, it’s not going to touch your soul.  The cream will always rise and Ai will never be equipped to with a human soul. I say Let it ride, if it’s better than the mediocre music that fills so much of the airways than so be it.

My fervent hope is that humanity realizes what a dead end this all is and abandons it, but as long as there is money to be made that will never happen. We are giddily dancing our own death waltz and looking for a robot to play music while we do it. I describe this as the NERO syndrom.

NERO = Nonsensically Embracing Robotic Overlords

The question is not  about the quality of A.I. designed music...

Most commercial music is bad already without A.I.

But at least there is human musician living from their craft and job learning music...

Soon we will live in an environment completely  A.I. generated...

We will loose our spiritual powers...

Reading a book is a spiritual powers growing in us as an example ( i dont talk about OBE here but most basic powers  transmitted by human education to other humans).

Most people had no idea about the spiritual  act of reading and writing  and what it imply, this is why  they think A.I.  will be better than us to read  and write and will delegate these gestures  to A.I. and these spiritual powers associated  with these very complex acts will decrease in us...

Learning how to write and read must be  done at young age and going on for a decade ...With A.I. no children  will learn really to do it  why ?

is anyone use fire signals or Morse code now with the phone in his pocket ?

Even without A.I. the education system in America is so bad that most people dont know what imply the act of teaching and learning how to read and write which is also the act of thinking ...

Who need to think if A.I. can think better than him ?

People dont realize, read the McLuhan letter i posted above 10 times... Then try to understand the fifth factor i added to McLuhan tetrad about any technology , speech or tools ...

Think....
